Synchronicity and Lemonade

Yesterday, I ran an impromptu lemonade stand with my daughter Sky and her school friend. When they first asked me, I said no because we didn’t have any supplies. No lemonade. No lemonade pitchers. No plastic cups. “But the store is right up the street, and it’s a beautiful day for a lemonade stand,” they begged. I couldn’t argue with either of these statements. So, I caved in.

Once at the store’s parking lot, I had difficulty finding an empty stall. I saw a blue car pull into a spot and decided to park next to it. For some reason, the decals on the car’s back window looked familiar. Once parked, I glanced over to realize it was the dad of Sky’s friend. We’d arrived at the exact same time, not knowing he was planning to grocery shop at the very same store. We all had a good laugh and couldn’t believe the odds.

Once our lemonade stand was up and running, Sky’s friend mentioned another classmate of theirs and how she wished that person could stop by. Right that very second, that same girl passed us, hollering out the car window. The parent came to a stop, and the girl hopped out and asked for a cup of lemonade. The three of us looked at each other with wide eyes. We couldn’t believe it. Again, what were the odds? It was synchronicity at its finest. I turned to Sky and said, “Gosh if only we had a million dollars right now.” And then I held out my hand, half-expecting the Universe had one final trick up its sleeve.

Skeptics merely view it as a coincidence… which, to me, is like a dirty word. Most events in life happen for a reason. When you peel back a few layers, you can glimpse the spinning gears that operate our reality known as Life. All it takes is a curious mind and a dash of intuition.

Why did we pull up beside the friend’s dad at the exact same time? It’s simple.
