Part 2: Predictions About the Future

Last week, I posted part one of this article, and it quickly became the most popular blog post I’ve ever published. It was read by nearly 4,000 curious minds, and many of them forwarded the article to like-minded family and friends. However, only a fraction of the readers accessed the full list of predictions, because those were reserved for paid subscribers to this blog.

Becoming a subscriber is just $5 a month and will grant you access to full-length articles, old publications, weekly videos, and bonus content. It’s a fabulous deal and supports my writing career. Win-win! And it costs less than

All throughout human history, people have been obsessed with glimpsing into the future. On a personal level, it grants us a sense of control and, in some cases, peace of mind. On a global scale, it gives us perspective and preparedness. Either way, it ignites a sense of wonder and curiosity within us.

I’ve always been fascinated with the future of our planet, and due to the nature of my work, I can’t help but see into the future. So, I guess it was only a matter of time before I wrote an article like this.

As I stated last week, I’m focusing more on what will happen in the future rather than when each event will occur. With eight billion people inhabiting this planet, free will can shift the timeline of certain events and predictions. Even still, I’m very confident that each of my predictions will come true in its own time. You might be excited about some of these predictions, while others will leave you feeling hesitant and resistant to change. Either way, please don’t shoot the messenger.

The following predictions are a baseline template for the most likely future I see happening for the general public. However, since we’re all creators of our own reality, it’s possible to shift yourself into a timeline that deviates from the one I’m about to describe. It might sound like science fiction, but there’s a lot of evidence to suggest our minds are far more powerful than we’ve ever imagined.

If you don’t like your current situation, you can change it for the better. If you don’t like how the world is currently trending, then envision it differently, and you’ll begin to see positive changes taking place. All it takes is a shift in your mentality, a little perspective, and a willingness to believe in the power of your own thoughts.

Without further ado… here’s the information you’ve been waiting for.

More and more people in third-world countries will gain access to clean water. This will be accomplished through various grassroots efforts and privately funded organizations. Governments will have the power but lack the motivation to accomplish such feats.

Traditional school settings as we know it begin to change. Many families will opt to enroll their children in home-schooling co-ops. These settings will focus more on real-life skills and practical, hands-on learning. Parents will slowly realize that standardized testing and traditional school curriculums don’t fully prepare children for the real world. This shift will also arise out of necessity as children feel more anxious about school settings and the ongoing threat of school violence.

When these home-school co-opts grow in popularity, many traditional schools will lose so many students that they’ll have to consolidate… leaving some school buildings empty. These will likely be converted into eco-friendly apartments.

Likewise, when most of the shopping malls around the world are non-operational, they’ll likely be converted into hospitals or apartments.

Major news channels will begin to decline in popularity due to an increasing reliance on social media. People will no longer view established news stations as the authority on worldly matters. Instead, they’ll rely more on whatever viral influencers they follow on a daily basis.

Because social media influencers are not subject to fact-checking, there will be a wide array of contrasting information. The result is people will no longer know what is true and what is not. This will have massive implications in all aspects of life, particularly in a political sense.

With time, whoever controls A.I. will also control the social narrative. At this juncture, social media might be suppressed as major news stations rise in popularity once more. Many will claim that media propaganda has communist undertones. There will be many uprisings as people demand freedom of information and self-expression. How this tug-of-war ends is not yet determined.

In the distant future, many forms of disease and cancer will be eradicated. For several decades, humanity will celebrate this accomplishment and marvel at the increase in human longevity. With time, there will be mixed feelings about living to age 200 or beyond. Some will enjoy the ride and feel entitled to live that long. Others will take a “quality over quantity” approach, choosing to live a modest 100 years or so. By this time, it will be legal for people to choose the time, place, and circumstances of their own demise.

The cost will continue to rise exponentially to attend live events such as professional sports games and concerts. It will become more and more commonplace for people to attend these spectacles remotely via live video streams (or, someday, a fully immersive upload to make you feel like you’re actually there.) Much like actual attendees, the price to digitally attend will vary depending on how close you want to feel to the action.

Although it’s hard to imagine, weather around the world will become far more intense and unpredictable than it currently is. The Northwest will continuously set new records for rainfall. The Northeast will see more frequent and intense winter storms. The Midwest will become windier than ever before - with record highs and lows occurring during every season of the year.

New scales will eventually be created to measure the increased intensities of hurricanes and tornadoes. We’ll hear terms such as an EF-6 tornado and a category seven hurricane.

Magnetic and solar storms will happen more frequently.

Atmospheric instability will see an increase in turbulence aboard airplanes. Stricter safety measures will be put in place regarding flyers getting up from their seats.

Although it may be several decades away, there will come a time when people no longer drive their own vehicles. We’ll rely solely on self-driving vehicles or improved public transportation systems. Things like traffic-related deaths and rush-hour gridlock will no longer exist in any capacity.

With time, people will move away from certain coastlines due to rising ocean levels. If money distribution remains equivalent to today, only the wealthy will be able to afford living near a coastline due to the cost of insurance policies. To counter this, many people will move inland. Lakefront properties will then rise in price as the new hot commodity.

It will become more common to see multiple families (or multiple generations of the same family) living under one roof. In some cases, it will be due to the cost of living. But overall, there will be a noticeable shift in how we value and respect our older populations. It will grow more common for parents to move in with their children later in life. In certain parts of the world, this is already customary, but it will eventually catch on in the United States as well.

There will be a race between global superpowers to unlock the true potential of A.I. This race will become far more tense than the Cold War. Whoever is able to achieve consistent, practical applications from A.I. quantum supercomputers will have unimaginable advantages over every other country on Earth. This will apply to medicine, the military, economics, technological advancements, and so much more.

The United States will ultimately win this race. Japan will be a close second but will choose to use its A.I. innovations quite differently than the United States. China will claim to have accomplished the same A.I. feats as the United States, but there will be little evidence to substantiate their claims.

In the next 100 years, China is likely to crumble as a world superpower due to economic hardships and population decline.

In the distant future, some advanced countries will not be run by presidents, queens, or prime ministers. They will be governed by A.I. software designed to be ethical, moral, and politically unbiased. Naturally, not everyone will agree with some of the decisions it makes. At times, many people will cry foul, claiming the software was tampered with. However, in the long run, this system will prove beneficial for the vast majority of the population and not just for the wealthiest 1% of its people.

In the distant future, major cities will be transformed into green spaces that are completely eco-friendly. Rooftops of skyscrapers will be transformed into public parks and nature preserves. People will walk from one building to another via botanical walkways and tunnels that stretch through the sky.

With time, this “sky-dwelling” population would have no reason to be on ground level since everything they need to survive would be several stories in the air – grocery stores, parks, gyms, work offices, restaurants, transportation hubs, etc. Their entire lives would be up there.

Some skyscrapers and high-rise apartments will include man-made waterfalls that zig-zag throughout the building’s interior. These waterfalls will occasionally exit the building and fall multiple stories before re-entering the building. It will be aesthetically easy on the eyes, especially when viewed from a distance.

The concrete jungle of metropolitan areas will be transformed into lush, green environments. This will be a counterweight to the current deforestation.

In response to environmental changes, certain animal species will adopt new survival techniques. There will be shocking discoveries proving how rapidly these species are evolving. Some animals will utilize tools in ways that border on human intelligence. Others will adopt new ways to swim, walk, and travel that have never been witnessed in the animal kingdom outside of humans.

AI technology will fully integrate with every industry, leading to discoveries that shatter our current understanding of reality. It will become scientifically proven that the world around us has consciousness and responds to each individual’s thoughts and expectations.

AI supercomputers will become so advanced they’ll design new and improved versions of themselves without any assistance from humans. This juncture in our planet’s history will prove to be the most interesting in terms of technological leaps and moral implications. We’ll be left with two choices. One could save our planet, and one could destroy it.

Choice #1 is quite simple…
