Angela Stahl asked me, “Do we have a choice about coming back for a new life? I’m exhausted.”
Join the club, Angela. I think we’re all exhausted on some level. Life itself is kind of like traveling abroad or going to Disney World. It’s a lot of fun, but it sure is tiring. The good news is that you can take a nice long rest break between lifetimes to catch your breath. The fatigue dissipates the longer you spend in the afterlife, so there’s a good chance you’ll decide to come back for another life (eventually.) Similarly, a marathon runner might swear it’s her last race when she’s tired and her legs are cramping during that final mile. But after a few weeks of recovery, she might begin to crave the competition and adrenaline rush that comes with running another race. The time we take between one life and the next is very individualized. There is much flexibility in the realms of reincarnation. Some people spend a decade or two in the spirit world before coming back again. Others take even longer. Some never come back again. It’s ultimately our choice.
CJ Labore said, “I am wondering do our spirit guides see us when we are depressed and lonely?”
Yes, but they also see us when we’re happy and on top of the world. We humans take our spirit guides along for an emotional rollercoaster as we navigate life. They see us when we’re thriving. They also see us when we’re depressed and stress-eating a half-gallon of Ben and Jerry’s ice cream. Thankfully, there’s no judgment. They’ve been human before, too. They know how it goes. Ultimately, they know we wouldn’t have signed up for another life unless we were strong enough to handle its challenges.
Pamela Vermele chimed in with the following. “How many spirit guides does a person generally have?”
The simple answer is three or four (on average.) I’ve encountered a handful of people with only two guardian angels, while others have six or seven. The amount of spirit guides required is contingent on a few different factors. If a person is destined to live a long, difficult, action-packed life full of challenging adventures… then more spirit guides would be needed. It would be an “all hands on deck” kind of situation. Another person intent on living a relatively easy and predictable lifestyle might only need two or three. It’s very individualized. We must also factor in the past life experience a person brings to the table. Old souls are prone to having a good deal of wisdom, perspective, and intuition. This certainly helps when navigating life. Old souls might require fewer spirit guides than the average person. Jacqueline Barajas asked, “Are demons real? If not, what is it that people actually see when they think they’ve seen one?”
To pull a quote from my latest book, We’re All Just Doing Our Best… Yes, demons are real. They don’t hide in closets, though. They walk among us in the form of kidnappers, murderers, narcissists, and people who sit through an entire green light because they’re too distracted texting.
I’ll put it this way, Jacqueline. The most terrifying things I’ve ever seen involved humans - not ghosts, demons, or anything supernatural. I’m more afraid of living people than dead people. More specifically, it’s hard to answer your question because it depends on how we define the word demon. Are there ghosts who are cranky, negative, and can suck the positive vibes out of a room? Sure there are. But the same could be said for an office co-worker who is an emotional vampire. As for demons, I think Hollywood has sensationalized the term. I’ve been immersed in the paranormal world for nearly two decades, and I’ve yet to see someone’s head spin in circles or a person levitate to the ceiling during an exorcism. But it’s a great question, and thanks for submitting it, Jacqueline.
