Here in my home city of Omaha, we’ll experience a high of seventy-eight degrees and sunny skies today. By Wednesday, we’re expected to get six inches of snow. March is a month when Mother Nature plays with the weather like a yo-yo. The ups and downs have historically caused fifty-degree temperature swings in less than twenty-four hours. It’s enough to give a person energetic whiplash. But considering what humans are doing to Mother Nature, I suppose she’s just trying to find her equilibrium, and we cannot blame her for this.

Should we grab our snow sleds or tank tops? Some days, I’m not sure. One thing is for certain, though. March is an “interesting” month for those of us who are intuitive. If you possess any amount of psychic mojo, it means you’re not only sensitive to people, but you’re also sensitive to your environment as well. Mother Nature’s mood swings may leave you feeling unbalanced or out of sorts.

Rest assured, there is a remedy to feeling more centered, grounded, and consistent, regardless of blizzards or heat waves. If you’re sensitive, intuitive, or simply in tune with the world around you, please consider the following suggestions. They are basic, simple, and free to utilize. And they’ll serve you well in body, mind, and spirit… especially in March.

1. Get enough sleep. Your dreams might be a little wonky if your psychic senses are affected by the weather fluctuations. But sleeping a solid seven or eight hours is a requirement for a body to function properly. Limiting screen time before bed is always advisable, and if you fall asleep listening to a podcast, be sure it’s not true crime stories or tales of alien abductions (unless you’re okay with bizarre dreams).

2. Stay hydrated. Heat can lead to dehydration. Excess cold and wind can strip the body of moisture as well. Drink plenty of water, regardless of the weather forecast. Most Americans do not drink enough water on a daily basis. The body can survive for long periods without food, but water is a must!

3. Deep breathing. A few times throughout the day, pause what you’re doing and take three deep breaths. Most of us are shallow breathers and we’re not getting enough oxygen to our brains. When you inhale, try imagining love, light, and positive energy going into your body. When you exhale, imagine the stress or anxiety leaving your body. Inhale. Exhale. Repeat.

4. Find social balance. If you’re an extrovert, be sure to call a friend or schedule a lunch date with someone you find enjoyable. If you’re an introvert, carve out enough “you time” in a given day.

5. Use your elements. We all feel connected to certain elements on a soul level. Whether it’s earth, air, water, or fire, we draw energy from at least one of these categories. If you’re a fire person, be sure to light some candles. If Earthly elements resonate with you, spend some time outdoors when the weather is nice. If it’s an indoor kind of day, perhaps tending to your house plants or playing with your crystals will lift your spirits when it’s cold outside.

6. Remember to eat. Many people forget that their bodies need calories even when they are not hungry. Thinking, planning, working, communicating, and being productive are all things that require energy. Energy requires food. If you don’t have a great appetite, focus on quality over quantity. Eating a handful of nuts for protein would be more helpful than eating a bag full of cheese doodles (no offense, cheese doodles…. you’re still delicious!)

7. Go easy on yourself. If the weather is making you feel out of sorts (or worldly events are causing you distress), having an “off day” is okay. Perhaps Monday and Wednesday are difficult for you this week. That’s okay. Permit yourself to feel your feelings. The other five days of the week still have the potential to be enjoyable. If you hit a mental wall and need to hit the reset button on a given day, grant yourself a mental health break and know it’s just what the doctor ordered.

8. Find humor when you can. Earlier today, someone texted me a horrendously inappropriate meme that some would find offensive… and I laughed my ass off! Life is short, and many people take it too seriously. Laugh when you can - even if it’s at the ridiculousness of our human reality. Humor is everywhere. The problem is that most people aren’t paying close enough attention to see it. If you’re feeling off-kilter lately, try watching a comedy movie or hanging out with your funniest friend. It’s a sure way to raise your vibration.
