A Poem for Old Souls
Hey, everyone. I hope you’re all gearing up for a fun and relaxing weekend. I know Fridays aren’t typically a time for reflecting or soul-searching, but in the spirit of coloring outside the lines, I thought I’d share a poem I wrote a few years ago. The topic of past lives is something I’m passionate about. If you’re an old soul, this poem should resonate with you. And if you’re equally fascinated with the notion of reincarnation, check out my book Old Soul, Young Spirit.
Oh, and be sure to read next week’s Substack post. It will include details of how to put yourself in the running for the BIGGEST prize giveaway I’ve ever offered. Trust me, you won’t want to miss out. Anyhoo, here’s the poem. Happy Friday!
This is a poem for old souls
Living in a world that pushes and pulls
Fate and destiny, living life as you planned it
While feeling like an alien on a strange planet
Wise beyond your years, yet hungry for knowledge
The Earth is your campus, your life is the college
Searching for answers in all that you do
Unlocking life’s mysteries and looking for clues
Grasping for wisdom and longing for meaning
Your mind is straight, but your heart is leaning
You’re accepted by many but understood by few
A social chameleon through and through
Cultured and worldly, a jack of all trades
A passionate spark that can’t possibly fade
Like a willow tree, your roots run deep
Dreams running free at night while you sleep
Where you have been and where you have gone
Paved the way for this journey you’re on
The world is a stage, your life is a play
And you are the actor in a strange little way
Comedies, dramas, and action galore
One life to the next, there’s more in store
Through the revolving door of reincarnation
You’re thereby granted eternal salvation
You shine so bright you’re nearly reflective
Viewing life from above with the highest perspective
So here’s to old souls who remain young at heart . . .
This isn’t the end but only the start
