Part of being a psychic involves predicting the future. It’s a must-have tool in the psychic toolkit… kind of like a carpenter’s hammer or a movie star’s charisma. Yet, predicting the future is tricky business, even for the most experienced intuitive. It’s like throwing a dart at a moving target while blindfolded.
People have free will. So, when this cause-and-effect pinball machine of life gets a little chaotic, the future is constantly changing. This is why predicting the future is an “all things remaining equal” kind of deal.
That said, it’s entirely possible to get a glimpse into the future. Other variables can be intuitively factored into the equation. What patterns are likely to develop? What are the building blocks of a person’s destiny? What are their soul purposes, and what is their current trajectory? During a psychic reading, I calculate all of this instinctually. It’s second nature… much like a quarterback takes in countless data points while dodging tackles and knowing where his wide receivers are likely to run. In other words, predicting the future is about knowing where that target will likely be after the dart is thrown. And then… bullseye!
Admittedly, predicting the future for other people is easier than predicting my own. It’s ironic, for sure. But intuition gets muddied slightly when a person is too close to their own situation. This happens because our own baggage, desires, and preferences end up skewing our viewpoint. And while we might not see exactly where our trail might lead, we can certainly follow the trail of breadcrumbs by following our hearts and listening to our gut feelings.
There are rare exceptions when people have the foresight to see their own future. These precognitive visions are rare but do sometimes occur. When I was no more than ten years old, I remember passing through the living room as my mom and aunt were watching an inspirational speaker give a lecture in front of a big crowd. His words went over my ten-year-old head, but I could tell the audience was moved because many of them had tears of joy in their eyes. I paused and stood there just long enough to think, “Hmmm… Some day, I’ll have a job just like that man.” And then, I shrugged my shoulders and walked into the kitchen without giving it another thought. Years passed. I fumbled through speech classes in high school and college because they caused me tremendous anxiety. But in my late twenties, something clicked. I began appearing on the radio, giving psychic readings to people who called into the show. Soon after that, I started giving talks and lectures in various cities. And then, I finally remembered seeing that speaker on TV in my youth and having the bizarre thought it would be me someday.
Of course, that’s relatively tame compared to my client, who dreamt of her future husband right down to his name, appearance, and the location they would meet. Sure enough, the very next day, it all played out in real life. She casually introduced herself and playfully insisted they’d get married someday. As fate would have it, they fell in love and did just that. Last I heard, they were still together.
These examples are the exception rather than the norm, but they leave us wondering… how much does destiny play into our daily lives?
